'My London Project' : Window Tax

Window tax (1696 – 1851)

In 1696 in the reign of William III another form of taxation came into force this was known as the “Window Tax” and would last until 1851.

Brief:

When I arrived London, I found a weird phenomenon in some building. Some window have bricked-up window-space. That means it's closed. So I wanna present this situation and tell people why it was happend.

Actually, it was a quite interesting story. The main reason of this phenomenon is The Window Tax which by William 3 was established in the 17th and 18th centuries. As you can see, some poor people have no enough money to pay for the window tax. so they have to bricked-up window-space, whereas the rich people can keep it. So in my final work, I try to compare these two totally different situation.

The aim of this project is to introduce this particular situation(window tax) in London for anybody.

Chicago, US

不知道为什么,时常会很想念在美国的生活,可能那里才是
我想要去的地方。

Do not know why, I usually miss my life in America. Maybe there
is my favorite place all over the world.
